What is Awakenus?
Awakenus is a co-created camping festival that encourages:

>> Like a "burn" festival, we encourage co-creation, self-expression, gifting, and volunteering.
>> Participation means you contribute to the festival as your best self bringing your creativity and gifts to share with others.
>> Unlike a "burn" festival, we allow monetary exchange to support co-creation so the arts can truly thrive. Artists and vendors may apply to sell merch, food and beverages (appropriate licenses required). Workshop hosts, artists and other co-creators may request donations during the festival.Β
>> The event is intended for humans ages 18 and older. While we appreciate younger humans, the decision to limit the event to adults was made to due to the mature content of some of our artists' contributions.

Humans co-exist with the world around them. Awakenus was designed to bring attention to the natural connections between humans and the earth.Β
Remember that HUMANS MAKE ART and ART is part of EARTH. Think about how you can embrace nature in your art.Β
π±Β Freedom of Creativity & Self-Expression π±Β
Awakenus is a safe place to relinquish normalcy and immerse yourself in the arts. Participate in the festival; donβt just observe it.Β
All participants are welcome to co-create. Certain co-creations may require an application for placement on the Awakenus festival map.Β
A spirit of gifting is encouraged.
π Healing & Celebration π
Aspects of the festival may introduce triggers from unhealed trauma and encourage shadow work. Embrace those triggers and seek to understand and find ways to heal. Take accountability for your healing and celebrate showing up as your best self.
Meanwhile, celebrate your growth and HAVE FUN!
π Safety & Well-Being π
You are responsible for your personal safety and well-being during this festival. Do not misuse or abuse substances. Take care of your basic needs, and watch out for the safety of others. Stay hydrated, eat healthy food, and take your vitamins!Β
Consent is part of well-being. Know your boundaries and honor them. Ask for permission before interacting in ways that may defy social norms. Clearly use your "No" and your "Yes" and respect others' "No" and "Yes". Β
Respect festival rules including NO DRIVING on the festival grounds after you park and entering during established gate hours.Β

You agree to uphold the festivalβs mission of sustainability by reducing your impact at the event.Β
Please look for opportunities to appreciate the nature at Bohamia and consider using repurposed and natural materials in your co-creations. Try to repurpose materials and bring non-disposable utensils, plates, and cups for meals.Β
